The Nomad Box is an all-in-one picnic basket, backpack, and cooler designed for outdoor gatherings. As sole product designer, I took the project from initial concept through material selection, 3D modeling, supplier sourcing, and prototype iteration to commercial launch. Currently available for pre-order through PineandCo.Green
Materials & Sustainability:
The Nomad Box uses sustainable materials throughout: a bamboo outer shell, coconut husk lining, EVA foam insulation with sugarcane-based options in development, and a plant-based TPU layer for finish and durability. Every material decision was made to balance longevity, performance, and environmental impact.
My Role:
Sole product designer. Responsible for concept development, form development, material selection, 3D modeling and technical drawings, supplier sourcing and coordination, and prototype review and iteration through to production-ready sign-off.
Outcome:
The Nomad Box launched commercially in 2024 through Pine & Co., available for pre-order at $499 CAD with shipping Summer 2026. Featured on Pine & Co.'s Kickstarter campaign.
